I have a 'grand-dog' Pug too!! And a new one that is a yellow Lab/Golden Retriever mix. One of the joys no one told me about before I became a parent! Grandchildren, yes, but not the animals our children have. :<)
Not having the blessing of grandchildren yet (hope springs eternal!), I thoroughly enjoy the granddogs and grandkitties. Trot, the Golden Retriever, is the comedian of the lot. Frankie is our Katrina puppy rescue. We think he's part yellow lab and given the color of his tongue and crook of the tail, there's some Chow in there too!
No grandkids here either! Is Frankie yours then? What a great thing to do. What color is a Chow's tongue? Our Chinook had a purple one, and our whoknowswhatbreed, Ben has black spots on his.
Frankie's tongue is a deep purple/almost black color. All three are officially my son's dogs, but we like to refer to them as "ours." Brian was happy to be able to give Frankie a new leash on life. Louie came from the same shelter.
Les~ A heart on his tongue--that would make those licks and kisses extra special! I spent Monday through Friday morning dog sitting this week while Brian was on vacation. Love the three of them dearly but, gosh, what a lot of work and attention they require!
I'm a one-dog-woman. I think I'd go crazy looking after more than my Annie-dog! I know Rod would love another, but our house is just too small for more.

And our Sidney (part Chow) had a black spot in the shape of a heart on his tongue. :)
