Isn't that just the best! Sometimes I'll think to myself that I'd like to 'be' in a certain place I've read about, and then I can read the book and be there, for example, Miss Read's villages. I have such a strong sense of place in real life, and my reading life seems to equal it. I'll be going about my day and suddenly think of how Durrell described the light in Alexandria, and I haven't read those books for forty plus years. Amazing.
