I rejoice that there are owls...they represent the stark twilight and unsatisfied thoughts which all men have. ~Henry David Thoreau
How fun! I wish our store was so lucky to get such big name authors!
Les~It was a special evening. Freezing cold outside with a body numbing wind chill, so the audience wasn't as large as it might have been. Ms. Hoffman sat at the front of the group, and we just gathered our chairs around and sat entranced as she talked about The Red Garden and her writing. She called The Red Garden her "love letter to Massachusetts."
Oh, it sounds like a lovely, intimate evening! I have at least a half dozen of her backlist on my shelves. I really need to read more of her books! Let me know how you like The Red Garden. I think I'll try to read Blackbird House later this spring.
I'm happy for you!!! My daughter used to read AH, and I should let her know about this book.
